Q & A About Callaway Wedges

I spoke with the guru of the corner on Friday, and here are his answers to some key observations interesting.

How can you compare and contrast the designs and technologies used in the Callaway wedges with other brands. What makes different corners of Callaway?

Many people copied the designs of the corner we've developed over the years makes Cleveland Golf Like 588 districts, but do not want to do that. I wanted to do something a little different.

When I had the opportunity to return to club decision and start making wedges Callaway, wanted to use the purest form of iron making, and that means forging. We liked it, so I called our groove at Mack Daddy.

With the new quarters of JAWS (above), it wanted to cut the outline of the corner when you're watching, and I wanted a smaller head. I think that gives golfers the feeling they can get the edge on the ball more easy. We have also implemented a very aggressive C-grind on the sole that makes it very versatile.

For the amateur, how to test and choose a special routine for the neighborhoods?

It all depends on how much and how different practice plans, wants to be able to hit your corner, especially high lofted wedge.

If you are the type of player who likes to open the face and knocked again, softer landing shots, and then looking for a routine the heel of relief, but do not add much bounce in the process. Automatically adds the face opening bounce, but some routines created more than others.

I do not think that the new Groove rules are necessary. Instead of doing something with the slots, have always felt like Jack Nicklaus and Sandy Tatum (former president of the USGA) have to do something with the ball instead. Listen, do not blame the USGA for what they are trying to do. I do not even blame the management of the USGA, who work hard, but I think the change of the ball is the best way to do it.

Any attempt to gain insight as possible back to the equipment line in 2010?

Because the USGA allows all manufacturers to design the requirements of the grooves of the opposition, which will to look at what the manufacturers to facilitate the launch.
